Today was the first day meeting everyone and reading the play. Its always nerve wracking the first read, but everyone has done their homework and it sound's great!

I'm really interested in Middleton speaking about fingers and sockets, especially when comparing it to Vindice in The Revenger's Tragedy. Vindice starts the play with the skull of his dead wife that the Duke murdered. He later puts poison in the skull to kill the Duke with a fatal kiss. I'm wondering if I can find a more fruitful link with this and The Changeling.

The work has begun. And we've hit the ground running. It's amazing how much more of an understanding you gain from hearing the play being read out loud. There's only so much work you can do on your own - it helps so much to be in the room with the other people in the show. Lots to think about. But I'm not going to let that overwhelm me. Tomorrow, we get moving. And the forensic work continues.

"Kiss me with a zeal now!" I find this line from Deflores particularly exciting, it always jolts me to attention/makes me squirm a little. Great to hear it out loud today! Similarly with "You're the deeds creature," yum! The Deeds Creatures, what an amazing name for a band that would be. Might nick that one day.

Also, love love LOVE getting to say "For a brave bloody blow you gave for her sake upon Piracquo."

It was really exciting to start feeling out the space and to begin laying the foundations for this shared world(s). I'm really liking the direction the music is going in too. The songs we heard today were great, and I'm super intrigued to find out more about those cheeky wee microphones I spied in the model box. What devious plans might there be for those puppies I wonder?
